BodyPower, one of UK’s leading brands in gym, fitness equipment and exhibitions brings to India it first exclusive studio gym set up to Pune. The swanky studio located in Salunkhe Vihar saw a grand opening on November 16 with some of the top Indian and international body building athletes and celebrities gracing the event.
Owner of Pune BodyPower franchise, Imran Shaikh, is extremely excited to be the first to bring to India the concept of a BodyPower studio gym. “I had visited the UK BodyPower exhibition back in 2014 where I saw this concept created at a booth, but that time the team wasn’t planning to expand globally apart from UK itself. In 2016, the concept launched in India and that’s how I grabbed the opportunity to introduce it in my home city. “I have combined my profession of designing buildings and passion for body-building to now designing great bodies,” laughed the architect-turned-fitness enthusiast Imran.s
The event witnessed some of the biggest names in athletics and in bodybuilding including Martyn Ford – Hollywood actor and body-builder more popularly known as ‘The Nightmare’, Jase Robinson – calisthenics expert, Pawan Shetty – Mr World, Matty Alwell – World Champion Body Builder, Jaco – Mr World and Juan Smith-Physique athlete. The event kickstarted with a roadshow with the crowd all packed with enthusiasm, followed by a grand Puneri welcome where the athletes were honoured with a Puneri Pagdi. This set the mood just right for the power-packed launch where the muscle men inaugurated the equipments by doing an intense workout.
The occasion also brought the BodyPower CEO Nick Orton and the Marketing Director Ollie Upton. Nick Orton said, “Our overall objective is to inspire people to lead a fitter and healthier life. We have received such an overwhelming response from India. We are into various exhibitions and events and are delighted to have joined hands with Imran Shaikh to open the first franchise in India. Pune is a great city and it always feels great to come here.”
